Synopsis
Astérix and Obélix have to win the Olympic Games in order to help their friend Alafolix marry Princess Irina (portrayed by supermodel Vanessa Hessler). Brutus (Benoît Poelvoorde) uses every trick in the book to have his own team win the game, and get rid of his father Julius Caesar (Alain Delon) in the process.

Is really not funny, it's a waste of time. I've some pity for the "actors" who played on it, and I feel disappointed by the producer who wasted a lot of money. (Big production, for a shit movie, it's very sad) .
This movie is the opposite of "astérix et obélix mission cléopatre", for me a master piece of the funny movies kind, witch deserves 5* rate.

Es geht einfach nicht. Man kann aus den unglaublich guten Comics keine Realverfilmng machen. Die Zeichentrickverfilmungen sind allesamt unterhaltsam, hier jedoch bleibt beinahe der ganze Witz auf der Strecke. Nur die netten Effekte und Alain Delon als selbstverliebter Imperator retten für mich den Film vor einer Totalkatastrophe.

Completely over the top cartoon-like shenanigans. Beautiful to look at (the over-saturated colour palette works brilliantly) , though slightly too long. Fun stuff.
