Using my qualifications as an Australian, these are the films I've seen that best represent at least some aspect of…
Ben Kinnear and Mike Paddock are two undercover detectives with way too much publicity, who find they can no longer turn a blind eye to the corruption in the police force.
I laugh when I think about this offensive Aussie comedy. Beware the Barrels
Finally an Australian buddy-cop movie! Melbourne comedy talents Tony Martin and Mick Molloy (CRACKERJACK) join their talents doing directing and lead starring respectively, for a satisfying cop romp through the murky waters of political corruption. The film is amazingly fresh and while the humour is laconic and the visuals dull, it's actually a fun yarn with some slick cinematography. A surprising experience.
This movie starts out quite funny and the bumbling duo of Mick Molloy and Bob Franklin works like a treat. But it's not far in when the slapstick absurdity soon gives way to a sense of stupid seriousness. Benny Hill meets Cops. Overall it's entertaining, great tongue in cheek, Australian humour.
