Reviews of Bad Teacher 2011

Well this wasn't even slightly good.
With Cameron Diaz in the lead role it's hard to take the film seriously. Granted, you're not supposed to, but with a less well-known actress in the lead I might have actually cared about her character. The same goes for Justin Timberlake. Instead of wanting to laugh at these actors doing something a little outside of their stereotypical roles, it just felt like a bit of a joke; a bad joke that wasn't even slightly funny.

What can I say? I really enjoyed it, despite its poor reputation. Oh, sure, in the Bad stakes it's no Santa, but I got a lot of laughs out of the excellent cast and amusing dialogue.

Thought this was funnier last time I watched it. Had some laugh out loud bits, Timberlake dry humping Diaz, but felt a bit flat? Maybe just not in the mood

Despite sounding awful it wasn't all that bad. The plot is at least more interesting than most romantic comedies.

I would give it 0/5 if I could.....

I skipped this movie because the only thing in the trailer that made me laugh was the Lebron James argument. I was still intrigued though, mainly because Jake Kasdan also made Orange County and Walk Hard, both of which I love.
Somehow they mostly avoided the lame obvious jokes I was expecting, and instead turned in a pretty great comedy. The cast is a huge part of it, and we get great turns from virtually everybody. I thought Diaz, Segel,…

Don't expect any subtle humor here, the jokes are in-your-face if there are any at all. Cameron's talent is really wasted here, most of the characters are walking clichés and there's no flow in the story at all. Best scenes are in the trailer, don't bother with the actual movie.

Bad Teacher isn't a great movie, but I'll be damned if I didn't find myself laughing. What I dislike about the movie most is just how despicable a human being Cameron Diaz's character is. She is too cruel to be believable. On the flipside, the others around her are too nice to be believable. There is one character - played by Jason Segel - that acts as the human side of the film, and he is absolutely fantastic. The problem…
