Reviews of Bang Rajan 2000

At the 2000 Toronto Film Festival, there were 2 films in Midnight Madness set in 1765, this and Brotherhood of the Wolf. I still want to do an U.S. MM 1765 movie with Ben Franklin et al. using authentic colonial-era kung fu styles against the Stamp Act. Check this movie out for the most impressive water buffalo you'll ever see.

My first Thai movie and honestly I enjoyed it. The battle scenes in this movie are intense and very violent. The drama between the villagers was rather poorly acted. I deducted a 1/2 star because the ridiculous German-like mustache felt so out of place it started to annoy me in the end.

My second colossal movie from Thailand. Bang Rajan is an epic drama that illustrates the battle between a group of Siamese warriors from Bang Rajan village against Burmese colonialists. What I like most about this film is the illustration of battle that is so real and vividly violent. During the first battle, Nai Taen, the leader of Bang Rajan injured so they had to find a replacement and hired Nai Chan Nuad Kheo, a veteran warrior.
