Beastly
2011 Directed by Daniel Barnz
Synopsis
Love is never ugly.
A curse transforms a handsome and arrogant young man into everything he detests in this contemporary retelling of Beauty and the Beast. Wealthy Kyle Kingson has everything a teenager could want in life, but he still gets off on humiliating the weaker and less attractive. When Kyle invites his misfit classmate Kendra to an environmental rally at their school, she questions his motivations but reluctantly accepts. Later, Kyle blows Kendra off, prompting the spurned goth girl to cast a dark spell on the swaggering egotist.

Vanessa Hudgens should stick to the Disney Channel.

This film made me want to kill myself.
..Beastly is a bad film. It is extremely unoriginal and very dull throughout. Its attempt to teach its audience about morality might work on very young people, but that is all. There is nothing new in this film, nothing that hasn’t been done before. It is just a very simple love story, with an uninteresting twist..

Awful. Just awful.

Ugh...I can't possibly be the only woman out there that finds spying on a girl to be on the opposite end of 'romantic'. Also if I were the witch I'd choose to put the nifty seasonal tree on his face instead of his forearm. It's hard to hate a guy when he has a Christmas tree on his face.

Wow...bad, just bad. The guy is such a pompous ass, he gets what he deserves until the 'hot' chick falls for him. See, even though she got treated like crap by her, it made her like him. Typical dumbass woman. Looks over substance every time! :( Hudgens cannot act, and the Olsen twin was god awful too. The ending was stupid on every level. Skip and don't make the mistake I did!

Is it bad that a Disney cartoon character can act circles around the actors in this movie? Cause I they did. On the bright side this movie did let me know that at least one of the Olsen twins is still alive and eating.

Yet another fairy tale retelling. In this version of Beauty and the Beast, the "Beast" is a arrogant high school student, "Beauty" is a kind hearted school mate with a drug addict father, and Cogsworth is Doogie Howser. It was an uninspired retake on the fairy tale, although better than some similar efforts (e.g. Snow White and the Huntsman).
