Will Ferrell can never be accused of not trying a bit of everything. Sure his stock in trade is usually a buffoon, but over the last few years he has cut his teeth in more ambitious fair. "Everything Must Go" may well have been funny but showed Ferrell's other side as an actor who could do more serious stuff and pull it off reasonably successfully. Unfortunately Blades Of Glory sees another dip in form from a comedy actor who has given us some of the most memorable comic creations of the last few years. His character Chazz Michael Michaels does have his moments but the film goes down the toilet pretty quickly with Jon Heder's Jimmy MacElroy particularly irritating. The world…

its not that great, but I used to be a figure skater so I got some laughs...
also only thing on in our hotel room while we were relaxing so made for good background noise ect. -
The best part of this film is a man being decapitated by an ice skate.
-
This movie is where comedy goes to die.

I laughed a lot, and that's all that really matters here. Ferrell and Heder are both on peak form.
-
Definitely has its charms in spots, but tepid and usual here

Looking back at reviews from the time of this film's release, I'm surprised by how forgiving most critics were of its transparent desperation. Only a select few (Chaw, Croce) called this out on its almost complete dearth of the funny, which reminds me why I began following them so fervently in the first place.

Not Ferrell's greatest film but is still a barrel of laughs. a lot funnier with a bunch of mates drinking than on your own sober may i add.

One of my favorite Will Ferrell comedies. Figure staking is an easy target and they make the most of it, playing on every stereotype in the... "sport".
Will Ferrell is in top comedic form, doing what he does best. The rest of the cast are good too; Amy Poehler being a standout. And was Jenna Fischer hot or what!!!
Love this one!
