i have nothing to say specifically in relation to this film but this is like the 15th role i've seen of hugh dancy's and every time i have to go onto his wiki page to check his filmography i really have to take a moment to process the amount of mediocrity it embodies...
he's a very good actor and obviously conventionally attractive... so how... why... why so many flops... is it just misfortune? really shitty decision making? an agent who hates him? a deliberate crime against humanity? against me particularly? not sure.
just hurts that his most interesting role is one he did on stage and all i'll have to go back to is a shit bootleg of it...
choose your fighter: hugh dancy’s character in this movie fending off an entire pack of angry werewolves with a single butter knife vs. hugh dancy’s character in hannibal taking in every stray dog he finds and setting up special heaters to keep them warm in his house.
also please look at this image.
hugh dancy murders more people total in this werewolf romance movie than he does in the entirety of the tv show hannibal
must a movie be good? is it not enough to look at hugh dancy being adorable for 98 minutes straight?
Oh come on! Blood and Chocolate is not that horrible! Yes, this supernatural romance thriller will require viewers to leave reason at the door and the technicalities needed fine-tuning (the visual effects are weak, the editing is shoddy and the lighting needed more work) but the ‘human loves a werewolf versus the entire coven’ plot is exciting and the acting by Agnes Buckner, Hugh Dancy, and Katja Reimann are inspired enough. Our star crossed lovers have great chemistry too and they had me invested. Blood and Chocolate is a good Netflix and chill movie. Give this movie an American remake and this will be glorious.

I'm progressive, I'd date a werewolf.
Sometimes young people have to figure out things on their own. Vivian is a werewolf... but she's also a teenage girl. She has to balance love, her family's secret, and werewolf horror in her dramatic YA world. This is a really good movie without the good parts. It takes itself a bit too seriously but lacks the actors and production values to do so.
The world building is pretty boring and in general the script is super basic but perhaps the biggest disappointment is the wolves... which are just wolves. They aren't like…
1. hugh looks amazing in literally every shitty movie he's in, so go off hugh
2. if they gave him a little butter knife in hannibal, he probably wouldn't have gone off the cliff
3. i cant believe they turn into straight up wolves. hugh baby we're gonna get you into a good movie some day or so help me god
