Blood: The Last Vampire
2009 Directed by Chris Nahon
Synopsis
On the surface, Saya is a stunning 16-year-old, but that youthful exterior hides the tormented soul of a 400-year-old "halfling." Born to a human father and a vampire mother, she has for centuries been a loner obsessed with using her samurai skills to rid the world of vampires, all the while knowing that she herself can survive only on blood like those she hunts.

This was a pretty enjoyable movie about a vampire girl who goes around killing other vampires. She's been doing it for hundreds of years and it shows. She is quite an efficient vampire killing machine.
With the bright orange colored day shots and the swooping cameras, it almost felt like I was watching a Michael Bay movie. Other times it seemed like it was mimicking Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. It was a very beautiful, very stylized world that was created.
The fight sequences in this were a mile a minute, nonstop slicing and dicing. It was quite a fun watch if you like vampire action movies. I have a feeling if this had bigger name stars, this film would be…

Film 61 of "The December Project" 2012
91 minutesI've watched so many vampire films as of late that I just figured one more wouldn't hurt, and this one has a decent poster, cute girl with samurai swords for the win.
The film was pretty good, I liked the story quite a bit actually, I was wondering if this is adapted from a comic or an Anime since it felt like an already established storyline and plot.
One of my major complaints was the atrocious CG. It was really bad,, so much so that it took me out of the enjoyment of the action at first. I did get used to it after a bit, but I still felt as…

was going to give this two stars but the last act, well one could be forgiven if they imagined the crew ran out of funds. It was that bad.

Blood, death and more death, that is what I wanted to see and that is what I got! The fight scenes were great the kills were badass and I enjoyed it. I can't believe people are actually complaining about the acting in this movie, seriously? You watched it expecting great acting? Please. If you want great acting go watch a drama. If you want badass katana fights you could do a lot worse.

[samurai vampires] Damn. That was bad in a very awesome way. There were some special effects that looked straight out of ghostbusters 30 yeas ago. The opening scenes on the military base would probably work as great study material for a class on american stereo types. In all it's craptastic greatness, there are a few legitimately cool visuals and fight sequences.

It was fun, although the ending was a bit obtuse and some of the CGI is pretty dodgy.

I'll be honest when I bought this, it was an impulse buy based on the premise " A Japanese girl in a school uniform wielding a katana and slaying demons", what could go wrong...Unfortunately quite a bit it seems. I am struggling to find to say anything remotely positive.
about this movie, but other than that it made me laugh out loud because it is so bad, is the only thing I could come up with.I am told that the original anime is much better, so I might try that once I have recovered from this crap

Hvor de vestlige filmene har en lei tendens til å holde seg innenfor visse grenser har de asiatiske en overraskende hyggelig og tiltalenes evne til å sprenge alt som finnes av grenser for å underholde pulikummet sitt. Ta for eksempel vampyrfilmer. De vestlige er vakre og forførende selv om de byr på litt råskap, de asiatiske er brutale, råe og fint lite sexy. Midt imellom disse to ytterpunktene finner vi Blood: The Last Vampire.

Somewhat based on the short animated film of the same name, this introduces an American student to provide a humanizing influence. It's an addition that frankly distracts from what should be a straightforward hack-a-thon.
The CGI is often lacking, but the fights are pretty fun. Worthwhile for Blood fans, but not a lot to offer others I suspect.

Another fine example of live action failing to live up to other formats of the story
I'm even predisposed to like this with Gianna Jun in the lead, but then again it's talentless Chris Nahon directing... I've on the positives also taken notes of Allison Miller in her current work at TV-series Go On, but she's sadly not up to the part here.
Even the best of ideas aren't well executed here, and there's more cliched and seen-before ideas than good ones to begin with. The attempted stylish fights and gore doesn't work, so there's very few positives to remember.

Based upon a comic book after watching this i realised you probably need to have read that to really get and understand this film. There are some good scenes and fights but it is lost as the blood is very poor CGI and it looks awful, the ending is a bit meh and think it would mean more if you had any idea of the mythos behind the character.
