Boring and uninteresting. Johnny Depp is all that keeps it alive. Penelope Cruz is completely wasted. Actually, Ray Liotta is really good in the few scenes he gets.

This is personally my favorite Johnny Depp film. It's the perfect character for him to play. Very strong story that keeps you going from how much good happens and how easy it seems to be in the drug selling business. Very great cast. Intense moments and just an overall interesting story.

Help! Help! I need an adult! Some guy is asking me to...
Oh, you want me to DO blow! Not...
Well you should have said that Pee Wee Herman! Pass that snow bro!

How come every time someone brings free cocaine into my house, they want to watch a movie? How come the movie always has to be about drugs? I just wanted to make a fire and have sex with strangers, but instead I found myself watching this again.
I'm still yaked out of my head so I will try to keep this review in line... This movie reminds me of “Boogie Nights” or “Goodfellas” or “People vs. Larry Flynt” - movies that are biographical in nature but fully realized with story arcs and kickass music.
The movie Ted Demme was born to make (and likely the thing that took him from us). Makes me reminisce to a time when I actually looked forward to a Johnny Depp movie - before he sewed his lips to Tim Burton's pasty white ass.

I had really expected to like this one, but ended up being utterly disappointed. I found the acting bad and Depps performance annoying. Liotta was good though.
It's basically a poor man's Goodfellas.

Blow is the based on the true story of George Jung. Jung(Johnny Depp) grew up in a small town, where his father owned a business and his mother only cared about the money. His life was never bad, and after high school, he decided to head out to California with his best friend Tuna(Ethan Suplee). Once there, he fell in love with the place and the people. George did not want to have to work, but he refused to be poor, like his family was at times. When they began to think they may become poor, Tuna comes up with an idea… sell drugs.
Jung’s girlfriend knows the local guy, and before you know it, George and Tuna are the…

There are few things as aggravating about a movie as wasted potential. This could have, and should have, been an interesting film. But anything of merit was all lost in the haze. Everything has this same sleepy, plodding approach to it. The exciting stuff is almost always off-camera. There is only one area I can give it my wholehearted praise: it had a great classic rock soundtrack. But it’s nothing you can’t hear on the radio, which is a better way to spend two hours. I might feel differently now, but at the time this just felt like a rehash of other, better films, many of which I hadn't even seen yet. I know this film has its fans, but it just didn't do it for me.

Perusduuneja vieroksuva jäbä ryhtyy myyntihommiin. Projekti starttaa kevyesti marilla, josta oletettu siirtymä kokaan avaa rahahanat. Ohessa on kiva itsekin hieman sniffailla.

I don't have anything nice to say.

This movie can make me cry. I don't know why George Jung's story breaks my heart down so, but it does. Johnny Depp is a beauty in this movie, as well, and he is one of my favorite actors.
The main character deals with inner, interpersonal, global, and cosmic crises interchangeably throughout the film, and whoever adapted this screenplay from the dude's life is an absolute wizard. The story is mind-boggling, and it's amazing to study the way the writers got it to fit into some standard beats that make sense to an audience. Brilliant filmmaking.

On second thought, even the rock and roll-style visuals don't distract us well enough to miss the rather uninteresting look at one of the most ordinary of all wasted lives: A mammoth drug dealer who repeatedly gets caught. When I first saw the film, probably because it was in the theater, I was able to allow the tone to overcome, and was far too forgiving of what transpires between guitar riffs, split screens and freeze frames.
