Bride of Re-Animator’s opening scene taking place in the middle of a Peruvian civil war bloodbath is totally absurd—I love it. From there it seaps back into more comfortable territory before a rousing third act that almost gives the ending of Yuzna’s previous film, Society, a run for its money, morphing into chaotic gothic madness of sewn together experimental rejects, a batwinged Head, and an outstretched hand holding a pulsating, reanimated heart while screaming “IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT?!?”
the pacing? inconsistent. the plot? nonsensical. the ending? unfinished. but the main characters? gay married. easily one of my favourite movies.
Can't take this movie seriously when Dr Hill's goofy ass head is flying around with bat wings 😭
