For a debut produced by Roger Corman, Jonathan Demme makes his voice heard in a fair few moments of this fun piece of exploitation which isn't anything I'd ever watch again but maintained interest throughout.

An odd mix of playful exploitation and pro-feminism. It's good fun though with a standout turn from Barbara Steele.

Jon Demme's first film that plays like a fun version of OZ that has it all with a crazy psychiatrist in tow doing bad things to people. It shouldn't work but it does and it turns out that it is a lot more fun than it should be.

Probably one of the best Women in Prison films ever. This was a first time watch, and I was very entertained. Much moire than I had expected, since I figured it would be the normal 70's exploitation film. The movie was engaging for more than just the nudity, the characters were actually interesting. The cast is full of nobodies except for a few WIP mainstays.
The last 20 minutes is great when they try to rescue the other prisoners, the action is good for what it was. IDK, it's just a lot of fun, and I will list it highly among my WIP films.

Take an evil female warden, some male guards, add lots of bad bitches and you've got one of the most well-known and also one of the better women-in-prison exploitation movies.

Jonathan Demme pulls a few surprising camera tricks in this mostly uneventful AIP exploiter about a woman’s prison. Russ Meyer vet Erica Gavin is on hand as the doe-eyed star who gets caught up in a prison break and goes back to get revenege on the cruel warden and her sleazy psychiatrist.
