The cast looks much too promising for its own best and the film had never any chance, being tongue in cheek and based on a real story, both at the same time. It actually belongs to the free cinema quirkiness of the 1970's, and probably would have made a bigger splash hadn't it premiered in 1981.
You'd always expect a greater film from actors like this:
Burt Lancaster, Rod Steiger, John Saxon, Scott Glen, John Quade, Michael Conrad, Buck Taylor ao.
Amanda Plummer and Diane Lane create the title roles.
