A feel good sports film starring Shahrukh Khan is the coach of an underdog women’s field hockey team. He’s trying to overcome his past when seven years earlier he lost a World Cup title to Pakistan amid rumors that he had thrown the game. The film is mainly about the girls overcoming ethnic differences and battling a misogynistic board which threatens to take away their funding. No romance, no dancing, the SRK character is never filled out beyond his passion for hockey but overall a well done action movie with surprisingly few clichés.

Chak De India is that rare Indian film that inspires you. The film tells the story of Kabir Khan an unsung hero of Indian hockey who arrives in Delhi to regain his reputation by coaching the women's hockey team. The genre is well brought out with an emotional patriotism that runs through it and Amin instills his perspective of certain social behaviours that young women are faced with. In addition to all this, is the stunning performance put up by the cast. Shah… -
Superbly directed by Shimit Amin, this is one of the best sports movies to come from India. A restrained SRK in top form, an ensemble of new girls, thrilling, humorous and quite dramatic, this women's hockey team & their coach won a lot of hearts.
