If I had to describe Champagne for Caesar in a word, it would be ‘breezy’. A light hearted ‘revenge comedy’ that shares comedic style and cinematographic sensibilities with the farcical serials of the late 30’s and early 40’s. Think the Penny Singleton / Arthur Lake ‘Blondie’ series ( assuming anyone but me remembers them ... no, I didn't see them on first run).

The narrator describes her hopes, dreams, aptitude, and qualifications. He then goes on to inform the audience that she isn't really in the movie. Champagne for Caesar…
