An intimate portrayal of how much it sucks to either have a kid or be in an Indie Rock band.
The Father is selfish.
The mother is naive.
The kid is gonna be messed up.
Well shot and well edited. Portraying the first years of this child's life well, I don't feel it gets bogged down in any one aspect of touring or child rearing.
The interviews with other musicians and their opinions on the curious arrangements were really welcome and refreshing.
At the end of the film. I feel I'm in no way closer to understanding the impulse to bring a child on tour or putting something as dumb as "art" ahead of the life of a child who didn't ask to be brought into the world.
The small segment with Julie Doiron is like a bucket of icewater on these two peoples ideals, or at least should be.
