As the market for DVD/Blu sadly diminishes, there are still many great (and, to be honest, not so great) movies…
An American narcotics agent takes her squad to Mexico, where she must break up a drug-smuggling gang that has also kidnapped her boyfriend.
Another Fred Olen Ray action movie... this one is entertaining only for the grade of film it is, which is relatively low. One of the only qualities that kept me interested was the presence of Sig Haig. He was trademark creepy enough, but nothing over the top. The leading lady was a Playmate or something, so you know what kind of acting quality you're getting. She also provides the flat, stiff voiceover narration.
Low budget but better than most recent Fred Olen Ray flicks, COMMANDO SQUAD features way too many bad guys (Sid Haig, William Smith, Ross Hagen and Russ Tamblyn just to name four of the scene chewers), and copious amounts of Brian Thompson torture. Along the way there's a lot of talking mixed in with some pretty decent explosions and some sweet stunts.
