Mace: "When a man meets a man, you never know which one will die. But when an animal meets a man, it's always the animal that dies. I'm on the animal's side."
Ilias: "Isn't this an animal you're eating?"
Mace: "I didn't kill him."
Ilias: "That's a pretty strange law."
Mace: "Not when you're hungry."

This Fulchi films shoots for dreamlike fantasy, but lands squarely in extremely silly fantasy territory. None of it makes a whole lot of sense, but when you have a naked lady with a metal head, and a guy with stone nunchuks you don't need sense. There's also some signature Fulchi gore.

Imagine YOR, THE HUNTER FROM THE FUTURE, only darker, far, far bloodier and with quite a few legitimately awesome parts. That is the wonderful thing that is Lucio Fulci's CONQUEST.

Woah, wtf....

What an absolute gong show. For some reason I avoided this Fulci for years and now I won't be able to forget it. I couldn't even tell you what the plot is. All that registered was scene after scene of mayhem and insanity. Fulci in this period was an absolute wildman. You take any single element from his films and he seems like an exploitation hack, but all the elements together create this mad atmosphere that is so much fun…

Has a lot of really cool ideas and some interesting scenes but just never really flows together. The action sequences are very well directed.

When Legolas helps one of the Quest For Firers, he gets attacked by a bunch of werewolves who like to jump a lot. Legolas fights them off…
