Fand ich bei der Zweitsichtung noch einen Tick stärker. Toll gefilmt, unaufdringlich, aber spannend erzählt. Toller Score, tolle Darsteller. Einfach ein guter Film.

Steven Soderbergh creates a fast, flowing pace, reminiscent of The Social Network. But with no purpose in sight, it becomes a string of undeveloped characters, rushing about cities, talking in clichés.

Soderbergh geht mit Contagion einen interessanten Weg, weg von den klassischen Konventionen eines Spielfilms. Es gibt viele Charaktere aber keinen klaren Protagonisten. Im Zentrum steht immer das Virus und welche Auswirkungen dieses auf verschiedenste Facetten der Gesellschaft hat.
Seine eigene Meinung versucht Soderbergh dabei frei zu positionieren. Am Ende gibt es für ihn keine klar definierte gute oder böse Seite. Jeder Charakter bleibt verständlich, aber gleichzeitig fragwürdig. Anerkennung dafür.
Und trotzdem hätten Contagion ein paar Hollywood-Elemente gut getan. Das Virus…

Terrifying, realistic, kept me engrossed throughout. Only downside is from a narrative perspective it was resolved unsatisfactorily with a few too many plot threads left dangling. Great cast though and some lovely use of quick cut empty spaces or people touching things and sharing space to emphasise the spread of the disease.

Contagion is a film about a very contagious virus which started in Hong Kong and spread to America and other places. It shows how its spread, how its contained and how its vaccinated against. It hasa good way og showing how mad people get in a state of emergency.

Interesting film exploring the potential of a viral outbreak across the globe and the impacts it would have on the population. Steven Soderburgh is known for his sprawling multi-layered character driven films which explore some very interesting topics. Contagion attempts to explore a potentially complex set of story arcs in less than 2 hours. Unfortunately this means that the characters feel a bit rushed, some events seem to happen without a lot of explanation and nearly half a year goes…

A fantastic difficult-to-breathe beginning, but by the end it kind of fizzles. Still, a great ride.

Decent, but not the rip-roaring explosive entertainment I guess I hoped for. The stars are terrific but the numerous characters are so slight and rote as to make it all seem like a standard disaster movie. It comes out swinging on the procedural front and I can see a more focused version of the same story turning into a masterful thriller, but everything's just a little too simple and shrill -- and too similar to a couple dozen other movies to boot. And while I truly appreciate the film's stance toward the anti-vaccination crazies, Jude Law's scenes are just too overbaked and cartoonish.
