I've always been interested in what other people are seeing and watching, and naturally, I love looking at Weekend Box…
It may be paradise... but it's no vacation.
Four couples, all friends, descend on a tropical island resort. Though one husband and wife are there to work on their marriage, the others just want to enjoy some fun in the sun. They soon find, however, that paradise comes at a price: Participation in couples therapy sessions is mandatory. What started out as a cut-rate vacation turns into an examination of the common problems many face.
"When you're living in my house, you're a Taliban! Okay? You keep your body a secret. Except you get to, you know, go to school and read books."
You ever have one of those movies that you hated on release and then watch a few years later and realise that it's actually not completely terrible?
Couples Retreat isn't groundbreaking or original in the comedy department, but it's a decent way to spend some time.
Jason Bateman seems to be pushing himself as a sort of wooden square named Jason.
Oh. It's gonna be that kind of movie.
June Challenge Film #56
I have seen worse movies. The problem with this one is, it is a comedy with all sorts of comedic people in it, but it isn't funny.
¨Do you have a phone? I need to call God and tell Him that one of His angels is missing. ¨
If you never heard that line before then perhaps you will enjoy this movie which consists of familiar jokes and few laughs and several cheesy dialogues. This movie was really hard to sit through and looked much better in the trailers than it actually was. The cast is an interesting one, but the material they had to work with was very poor. Vince Vaughn teamed up with Iron Man director Jon Favreau and Dana Fox to write the screenplay for this film, and all I can say is that they should stick to directing and acting based on this…
MOVIE A DAY FOR A YEAR - DAY 207
I am a firm believer in the fact that this movie only gets better with age.
MOVIE A DAY FOR A YEAR - DAY 142
Bora Bora is so fucking beautiful. So fucking beautiful.
Unfunny and poorly written dialogue. Well rounded yet unlikable characters.
ENCONTRO DE CASAIS
(Couples Retreat, 2009)
Metascore / 23/100
I almost liked it........ and then I didn't.
It had an ok moment...... followed by a horrible one.
It felt optimistic..... and then fell right flat on its face.
Long story short:
PS: Features one of the most disappointing face-offs I have ever seen. Yes, I'm looking at you ruined guitar-hero debacle scene.
It sure looks they all had a lot of fun filming the movie, but too bad it wasn't that fun to watch.
Once more I’m reminded why I can’t stand Vince Vaughn. Cringeworthy every step of the way.
Carlos Ponce is hilarious in this. Yoga scene with him makes the movie worth watching. Vince Vaughn/ Jason Batemen playing the same people yet again. Jon Faveau trying to get the masseuse to wack him off was too good.
Not a very funny film and some really bad attempts to make some humorous situations in the film which are nevertheless not funny really. The film is kind of entertaining and very predictable, a good film to just sit back and enjoy for what it is.
Moderately entertaining but no real laughs to be had. Some good observations on coupled life.
Questa é la peggior merda che io abbia mai visto in vita mia...una vera merda..lo consiglierei a qualcuno a cui voglio male. Orribile
All movies available on Netflix Germany. Documentaries and movies for children are included. May be incomplete.
An on-going collection of the worst films ever made. Even the ones that are so fucking bad, they're not worthy…
