Cowboy, is, in a way, appropriately titled, both for the obvious reason, it is a film that centers on cowboys, but also because Cowboy is a vague, boring title and the movie itself is a vague, boring movie. It's not without its charms, such as the set design of the hotel (which is gloriously captured in Technicolor), where pivotal early scenes take place, or Glenn Ford and Jack Lemmon's solid performances as Reese and Harris, or Ford's absolute sexiness 🥵, but frustratingly one of the most interesting elements of the film, the character arcs for Reese, Harris, and especially Brian Donlevy's marshall turned cowboy Doc, is also one that is largely unexplored, making…
