Crawl Home Killing Home
Australian horror crossed with a quirky crime thriller, Georgina Haig (who i didn't think much off in Road Train but is really good here) stars as Marilyn Burns (in what's got to be a nod to TCM), a waitress in bar in a dead end town. When the bar owner hires a mysterious Croatian drifter to bump of a local rival, things get messy and Marilyn gets caught up in the double cross.
This is a really well made movie, the script is full of interesting characters and plenty of humour, the director does a wonderful job building up the tension with some scenes played out without any score or dialogue, only relying on the characters reaction to get the…
An Aussie flick that makes little sense.
A man is killed and his killer was hired by a creepy bar owner.
A waitress (Georgina Haig) working for the bar owner goes home to gussy up for her boyfriend who is returning from a week-long absence, who she thinks is going to propose to her.
What occurs next is a bunch of random events that are supposed to come together to form this fantastic story, but falls flat.
There is too much suspense where nothing happens. Very slow. What the hell is motivating the hitman to do what he does?
Some decent gore (mostly wound and blood EFX).
Acting is passable.
Crawl is the ultimate Blood Simple fan film. If you enjoy the style and pacing of early Cohen Brothers' films, run... wrestle your way to the nearest TV to watch Crawl.
this was one if the earliest horror movies i remember watching. i was sitting in my parents bed room and it came on randomly after an episode of South Park.
This film tries to be lots of things - film noir, neo-noir, sleazy soft porn, thriller, chiller, black comedy, murder mystery - but fails to be any of them, as it moves along at such a slow pace it is more likely to send the viewer to sleep.
The title of this film totally decribes the plodding boring plot and story, I think the director must have told his actors to do everything in slow motion to drag out his film.
Why does the assassin go to the girl's house?
What does the sleazy club owner spanking his employee have to do with anything?
Is the assassin one of cinema's worst most boring baddies?
Pointless.
Year:2011/2012
I felt like watching a Bloody Disgusting Selects horror movie so I chose Bloody Disgusting Selects' #Crawl2011 which looked like a pretty cool slasher horror movie which is not the film about the gators that came out in 2019 but I gave this film a watch today so here are my thoughts after seeing it.
I found this movie to be great. It wasn't a perfect film. I found the film to be a tad bit boring at times but besides that I was still pretty entertained from watching this movie but let's get into the positives of the movie. One of the first positives that I have for the movie is the concept. It's a slasher horror movie…
Ugh...Another dud.
Thought is was going somewhere interesting with the guy in the hat, but then he ended up at the girls house and that's when things just got really boring. I understand stalk and slash but this was just yawning with come on already.
Give this a pass.
Paul China's favourite film is definitely 'No Country for Old Men'.
Anyway, the editing was quite cheesy and there are a number of clichés throughout, but the cinematography was surprisingly good, there are some very funny characters in here and the film is overall enjoyable.
Nicely shot, tense little thriller, which is a bit reminiscent of various Coen Brothers movies.
Viewing this indifferently scripted, over-directed and poorly acted Australian movie is like watching a crap re-working of the Coen Bros' Blood Simple in slow motion. Everything is dragged out to ridiculous lengths, so that is effect a 28-minute short goes on for over 70 minutes. Amateurish staging of the violence and tepid sex sucks the suspense, tension and excitement out of every scene.
