Miike takes high school gang rivalry to another level, a fest of action, emotions and Japanese rock. I feel this was Miike minus the mind bending freakishness, and yes, I enjoyed the hell outta it!

Another Miike. Fucked up story - tons of violence. Great music.

Oozing bravado and faux manliness, this story of warring school factions will be familiar to anyone who has seen any of the fighting-fanservice brand of anime (Ikkitousen, Tenjho Tenge et. al.) but errs more towards Kaiji with its fixation of chauvanistic nobility. Takashi Miike plays fast and loose with reality and physics like many of his (hundreds) of films and keeps things interesting with some of the more epic brawls. A predictable ending doesn't hide some likeable and well drawn characters (the token eye-candy not withstanding) and an enjoyable if slightly too-long plot.

Brillant!!!!

Miike is becoming one of my favourite Asian directors. Through out his whole career he has gone from crazy horror films to family friendly to straight up gang warfare flicks. Crows Zero is a pretty cool film with a great soundtrack, the fights are pretty crazy and so is the hair styles. This is a movie I'd probably watch again for sure.

I enjoyed this muchly.
The film has a similar visual feel to 'The Matrix' with the greenish tint applied in after effects, which I quite liked for this one. I wouldn't go so far as to say it gave it a comicbook feel, but it definitely gave the impression that it wasn't of this world, or reality. This lends itself to the over the top fights, which quite clearly wouldn't have panned out the same way if they were shot to seem real.
I'm a big fan of the 'Yakuza' and 'Gang' style films, and this film certainly reminded of parts of 'Young and Dangerous' and 'The Wanderers'. The fights scenes effectively captured the random anarchy aspects, which is essential… -
cool factor 10/10!!! it's a movie where you don't get to be a picky cock sucker who rates movies based on 'objective' rules of making movies. you just wake up the inner child in you and enjoy the shit out of it. I also read manga (which was really awesome experience) and I recommend this to everyone!!! I WANNA CHANGE, CHANGE, CHANGE!! GENJIIII, FLYYYY!!!

An alright Miike action film.

Fun with high school fighting. The brawls aren't as imaginative as one would hope but Miikes humor saves the day.
