There are worse things in the world than this film, like cancer, or getting your butt stuck to the drainage pipe of a pool and having your intestines sucked out your anus.

Really cool, TWILIGHT ZONE-style film about a group of strangers who inexplicably wake up inside a gigantic maze of interlocking steel rooms, many of which are equipped with gruesome, deadly booby traps.
I was totally obsessed with this movie when it first came out, mostly because I thought it was just about the greatest, most suspenseful premise I'd ever encountered. While I no longer consider it flawless (some of the dialogue is pretty ripe and while the actors are generally very good, all have a weak moment or two), it's still a heck of an achievement.
Making the most out of an obviously limited budget, the film does a remarkable job of creating an absolutely huge sense of scope with…

Cube is testament to the fact that you don't need a big budget to make a convincing film, all you need is a little imagination. It still really tickles me that this film was made inside one room and that they just switched the lights out, IT'S SO GENIUS.
Yep, this film is still pretty good. It's mysterious and tense throughout. My issue is with the acting which can be a little hammy, but nothing to really worry about. The ending is so fantastic.
I learnt my favourite survival technique from this film too, THAT IF YOU SUCK ON A BUTTON YOU CAN LIVE FOREVER.

Thought I would be watching a regular sci-fi horror film, and was pleasantly surprised at the Saw-esque science fiction psychological thriller it became.

How to make a film with no set, no budget and no talent.

Cube features a couple of overdone performances that detract slightly but in the end this film had me and my friends debating and yelling at the screen- and that is a rare and beautiful thing.

Such a great idea which then gets let down by the basics.
You get a handful of people stuck in a maze thats a cube. Some of the cubes are traps and some of them are safe havens. The issue is that working the safe ones from the inventive death traps is a mathematical conundrum. Well luck would have it they have a mathematical genius with them.
Up until this point I can let a few things go but after this it goes a bit nutty.
Right to figure out the safe cubes they need to figure out prime numbers. Yet the mathematical bloody genius hesitates not only over numbers that end in 5 and, get this, even numbers. Even numbers? Seriously? Oh and apparently 30 only has 3 factors. Everydays a school day.
Im not dying in a fucking rat cage.

love it

If the acting were somewhat better, it could have been a great film. Liked the story and the idea a lot.

Thrilling and surreal...
I like it. -
An amazing piece of work, not only is it the Original Saw in my opinion but has an amazing twist and plot. I highly recommend this!
