This personally to me is Costner's best film he has ever made.
He fully deserved the awards he received from releasing the film world wide in 1990.
The cinematography is absolutely stunning and I was in awe when the extended 4hr cut was being shown at the cinema.
It might not be everyone's cup of T but it is in my category of top 100 films of all time. -
This was OK and everything, but it probably could have done with being at least 30 minutes to an hour shorter. The first hour or so in particular does drag quite a bit. I'm not sure it was really Oscar worthy either, especially when it was alongside Goodfellas.
Also, something about Kevin Costner really irks me. I'm not sure I like him, but I'm not really sure why either.

“Inside everyone is frontier waiting to be discovered”
I WAS GONNA REVIEW THIS IN CAPS LOCK SINCE THIS FILM IS ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENT IN EVERY WAY but then in the end, I decided to use the normal lower case. Even though this film is purely fiction; nevertheless, it would be wise if we also look closely what it is all about. Why does a film that run 4 hours won so many achievements? That’s simple; it is beautifully executed, touching, timeless and inspiring as it unravels the precious history of the Indian population in America. You will be thrilled by the perfectly composed scoring, the magnificent photography and also absolutely genius plot. Another key success would be not only was this…

I wish I had a cute androgynous american Indian boy to hold me while I watched everyone be out acted by animals.

If there was a white guilt genre this would be a solid entry. Otherwise it's a very entertaining romp that never drags in it's 3 hour run time despite horrible voice-over work and some very manipulative moments.

The ambition in Dances with Wolves is definitely to be admired, and it features some sweeping, beautiful moments, including a gorgeous John Barry score.

I really liked the film, how it slowly built up the relationship between the soldier and the indian tribe. It well deserves all the praise it earned, for being the first western movie to show this side of the conflict between the natives and the settlers.

Seen this so many times and could watch it so many more times. My favorite movie. I love it!

This is probably a good movie but I can’t tell. I still resent it because I was forced to watch it in high school.
Somebody, please tell me if this is a good movie. I have no idea. I trust you.

Great film. Interesting story with the right mix of action, quiet scenes, and humor.

I should rewatch this once, I've seen it ages ago and I was just so bored.
