Day & Night
When Day, a sunny fellow, encounters Night, a stranger of distinctly darker moods, sparks fly! Day and Night are frightened and suspicious of each other at first, and quickly get off on the wrong foot. But as they discover each other's unique qualities--and come to realize that each of them offers a different window onto the same world-the friendship helps both to gain a new perspective.
One of the greatest movies ever made.
Thought provoking, fun, and full of moody humor, this a short film that was done right.
2010 was probably the last year of Pixar's reign of infallibility. It was the year that they released "Toy Story 3", a film that, while critically and commercially successful, was greeted with suspicions that they had run out of ideas and were just going to fall into a franchise mode, releasing more and more sequels to existing popular product. Pixar would only release one, wholly, original film in the next five years, 2012's mediocrely received "Brave".
But we'll talk more about that period when we get to it. Today, we're talking about "Day & Night", the short that was released to accompany "Toy Story 3".
There is Day and there is Night, and never the twain shall meet. Except…
Very creative idea. I likey.
Damn it, was that adorable!

Really cute short that I saw in front of Toy Story 3.
Last time I watched this, was back in 2010 before Toy Story 3 and it was able to keep the entire room smiling and laughing for the whole thing. Super creative and brilliantly animated it gets 4 stars
Mostly fun and a little poignant.
I watched this because it's one of my favorite shorts, and I didn't want to go a day without logging a film (movie OCD). But then, of course, I was able to re-experience why this is one of my favorites, and the whole scheme went from being compulsive to being transcendent. Five stars to the power of cinema.
One of a handful of films that makes spectacular use of 3D and is better in 3D than 2D
I Lava Pixar.
Might be their best short. Just revolutionary cinema. Was radically amazing seeing it in an advanced screening of Toy Story 3 five and a half years ago. Thanks, @Silks! ❤️
I might do a Pixar Shorts marathon someday, and then attempt to rank them all. I really do miss some of them I haven't seen in a while (I DO NOT miss Boundin' tho 👷).
Just a few minutes? i wanna more.
It's amazing what the man can do in 6 minutes or less.
Pixar short films are always so lovely.
So creative and one of the first Pixar shorts that actually stayed with me after watching.
Entretenido, pero un poco ramplón.
Y no es que el día y la noche creen un debate controvertido, ni uno real. Ahí están, con sus cosas; es llevarlo un poco al extremo.
Short films that I've seen and enjoyed. Would love suggestions as well. I've included The ABCs Of Death as there…
Added Comedians back on 28th Jan to make the full 1,000 titles again.
