Following a plane crash, a young boy and his faithful dog try and survive in the harsh environment of the Kalahari desert. For a film aimed at a young audience, Lost in the Desert, doesn’t shy away from putting the boy through great hardship as he attempts to escape hyenas and avoid dehydration and starvation. I can certainly see why the film had such a profound impact on the children that watched the film back in 1970.
