Funny, great fun and lovable. Pretty good cast. Nice casual Sunday evening viewing.

This wasn't as great as I remember, but still pretty damn funny, with terrific dialogue, amusing cameos (Shatner! Norris! Hasselhoff) and quite possibly the two funniest commentators in movie history (save for maybe Fred Willard in Best In Show).
"Cram it up your cram hole, LaFleur."

Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story is one of those movies that I have seen a to many times to count. Its not because its the funniest movie of all times by any means but it is still pretty funny and its on TV all the time so why not?
Dodgeball tells the story of Average Joe's Gym a down and out gym that seemingly only misfit losers frequent. The gym is owned by Peter La Fleur played by Vince Vaughn, and its going out of business real fast if they can't get the money to stay open. Naturally the best option to find the money is to enter a dodgeball tournament which will give them the exact amount of money…

Rawson Marshall Thurber's DodgeBall is not particularly deep or original but is funny as hell, thanks to the awesome cast (and some very funny cameos). I had a blast with the rivalry between 'Average Joe' vs 'Purple Cobras', and ESPN8 "the ocho."
DodgeBall is one of the best comedies of the past decade.."back to you Cotton."

This movie's idea of what's funny is just plain idiotic. It reminded me of the stupid comedies I used to watch as a pre-teen in the early eighties. Who greenlights this shit? I've stayed away from the low-IQ school of comedies starring the likes of Vince Vaughn, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Adam Sandler, David Spade, and Chris Farley, so I don't know how this one compares. I only watched this because my brother's family was watching it when I visited them. The sad thing is that the first four of the aforementioned actors have proven they can do good work (Swingers, The Royal Tennenbaums, Punch-Drunk Love). To add insult to injury, Dodgeball steals jokes from actually funny sources (The Simpsons and Best In Show), and drains all the humour out of them.

I probably haven't seen this movie in 6-7 years and I didn't think it would hold up too well, but I still find it very funny. Ben Stiller is amazing in it and Jamal Duff is quite funny as Me'Shell. As always, Christine Taylor is a fucking peach.
Vince Vaughn's conversation with Lance Armstrong in the end is more than a little ironic now.

Dumb and crude but a good film to have on in the background while you're fiddling with some images in photoshop. The Lance Armstrong cameo is unfortunate in retrospect, it would be funny if they addressed that in the (threatened) sequel.
Edit: and Vince Vaughn is pretty hilarious on the commentary.

I still cannot believe the summer of 2004 brought us Anchorman and this gem. At the end of the day, seeing people get hit by dodgeballs is pretty funny.
This may be the best Ben Stiller role ever. He's such an uber douche and nearly everything he says is gold. Vaughn plays it quite straight and has a lot of zingers that way too.
In fact every part of the Average Joe's team is a great character and gets their own moments to shine. Brian Cox as the coach is beyond hilarious.
Just so many other things are so funny here. The Ocho jokes never get old, and neither do any of the cameos...especially the last one.
And Cole and Bateman are the announcers are awesome!!!
Be sure to stay through to the end credits for a special dance!

If this is a guilty pleasure then lock me up and throw away the key.

I would make some crack about Lance Armstrong's straight-as-an-arrow cameo being the funniest thing in it but the rest of it was so damn good I can't.

This movie is so bad.. that it becomes funny! Everything you would expect from a Dodgeball movie. I give this movie a thumbs up, just like Chuck Norris.
