I love this movie, it's a modern day planes, trains and automobiles but with TEETH, I re watched PT &A recently and can say I enjoyed due date more, Downey junior is on top quick witted form, and gafinakis is camper than Julian clary camping at an international camp man convention.
I've seen this film for the 5th time today and I still laugh every time

Planes, Trains & Automobiles is one of the funniest, sweetest films of modern times. This rip off is a nasty, cynical, unfunny piece of shit.

This is basically Planes, Trains & Automobiles updated for the 21st century.
Downey Jr and the other dude who's name I can't spell from memory make a good screen duo, there are a lot of laughs with the odd poignant moment thrown in too. I did think that the story got a bit too silly towards the end but overall it was very funny and let's just say I've never seen a masturbating dog before...... -
So Robert Downey Jr and Zach Galifianakis weren't funny together, who'd have thought? The only potential this had was the odd coupling, but it just really didn't work.
-
There is a scene in Dumb and Dumber in which Mike Starr is stuck in a (sheep dog) car with Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, getting increasingly frustrated with them and their annoying antics.
Going on this road trip with Robert Downey Jr and Zach Galifianakis made me feel the same way.
Horrible.
My own wife's due date is coming up soon and through the blood, sweat and screaming, I anticipate a lot more laughs than I got from watching this.

Had potential to be funnier, but it amounts to a forgettable and shitty version of Planes Trains and Automobiles that is barely saved by two reliable and funny stars in Zach Galifanakis and Robert Downey Jr.

Todd Phillips is the man responsible for directing The Hangover, one of my favorite comedies of the decade. He`s also directed some other funny movies like Old School and is currently working on the sequel for The Hangover. However his latest film, Due Date, was hugely disappointing. Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis are among today`s best comedic actors, but they were badly miscast in this film. The biggest mistake was the approach this road trip/comedy took because the lead characters were immensely annoying and very unlikeable. Robert Downey Jr. `s character is really mean spirited and hateful. He yells at people all the time, easily losses his temper,…

As a kid one of my favourite movies was "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" (1987). Now this is a really mean spirited version of that film. But to be perfectly honest: I kinda like it. The jokes are all hit and miss, but when they hit, they hit big.
And how can you hate on RDJ?

Nice movie and also quite funny. The actors are great but the jokes get a bit lame and the story is typical road-trip-like.
Five words: Robert Downey Junior with sunglasses. -
Difficult to think that this is the same Writer/Director as 'The Hangover'. This is so genuinely funny, partially due to the amazing chemistry and the contrasting actors and characters of Robert Downey Jr and Zack Galifianakis.
It is funny, an at times really quite sad and serious and so excellently written.
