The idea is better than the actual movie, mixing vampires, werewolves and zombie'ish. Like the setting, and the comic it's based on. But would be better to focus on on thing instead of just throwing everything into the mix. Still, it not always you get a horror-action (with some funny parts in it) that is based on a italian comic.

Superman playing a noir-style detective working on cases involving the supernatural and undead sounds awesome, right? Not the case here. For a film with such a cool concept, the end result is surprisingly cheap and incredibly dull. The whole time, it felt like the director fell asleep behind the camera, and I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happened to the writers who wrote this shitty script. Brandon Routh and Sam Huntington try their best, but they have to deal with an awful script. Before you say, "Oh, it's just a silly comedy, don't take it so seriously", first off, there's a difference between silly and incompetent. Second, this is based off a popular and well-loved comic book, and I highly doubt the fans wanted an adaptation so dull, boring, cheap, dry, and lazy.

Why rape the comix, why soil that other Dylan Dog movie?

Predictable "twists" made for a poor story, and Brandon Routh pretty much sucked as a noir private detective. Hate it when a concept is sound and the execution is flawed.

Brandon Routh should be Superman again. Just when I was getting over that notion and I watch this. But Studios suck. Okay now thats out of the way. This was just a bit of fun escapism. I didn't think the ending was all that great, the build up to it and creation of the world Dylan inhabits works for me. Love the zombie Idea that was the funniest part. The zombie support group lol. This is like a good pilot for a TV series.

Half horror, half comedy - but that won't work. At least not with this movie. Well-intentioned but nevertheless a mess.

O filme é pessimo! Brandon Routh teve uma atuação ridícula. Quem teve a ideia de que Clark Kent iria funcionar como Dylan Dog?
O Dylan Dog dos quadrinhos era mulherengo, não um metrosexual de faculdade. -
I'm not really a fan of the comics version of Dylan Dog, but I've read a couple of them, so it was a surprise to see Dylan Dog not set in London, and without his faithful comic sidekick Groucho. All right, New Orleans is also perfect setting for otherwordly adventures, and Groucho anyway always irritated me. However, story was very crappy. Fleeing randomly from one suspect to another without any real clues or better said without any second thoughts about them - that is not storytelling, especially for a story about a detective. There were few chuckles though, but rather strained and pitiful ones, as Routh seems to inadvertently ruin every otherwise very comic scene with zombie Huntington.
Routh's voiceovers…

Boring and uninteresting.
Watch "Cemetary Man", instead, for a FAR superior take on the Dylan Dog universe.

Dylan Dog had the potential of being another Evil Dead but instead comes off as yet another backdoor comic book adaptation the likes of Cowboys and Aliens. Brandon Routh gets a lot of flack as being a boring performer, though moments in Chuck and even Superman Returns (the first bits at least) suggest he is capable of more. Yet as the titular character the film isn't sure what to do with him. Is he a hapless slob as the opening suggests or the sharply dressed charmer of the later half? Meanwhile the comedy feels forced as there are long beats after each gag as if the writers had expected laughs that frankly never come. Furthermore, the battle between vampire and…

What a mess of crap. I don't think there's a single original idea in this entire movie. I'm also pretty sure every line of dialogue and every character interaction is a cliché. Worse than that, though, is Brandon Routh's lack of charisma, wooden delivery and obvious lack of desire to be involved in the film. It's like you can actually see him on screen regretting his whole life while thinking "I'm Dylan Dog now? I used to be the goddamn Superman!!"

Good. Really good.

Reasonably entertaining, although a bit more action-oriented than the comic book.
