Two television crews with different goals. One team is searching for scientific evidence of paranormal activity, and believes that a "haunting" is merely trapped energy taking some kind of form, and that it has nothing to do with spirits of deceased humans.
While the other, slightly more Jesus oriented team is looking to discredit that theory, by proving that they are souls trapped in our world.
Teaming up for the first time for a special episode of the tv show, Paranormal Investigators, the two teams are let in an otherwise closed off mental institution to gather evidence. A place which is rumoured to be the ‘Gateway to Hell’. Strange murders have happened there over the years, with reports of victims… -
Doesn't even deserve a rating. Sorry guys.

This movie had an interesting premise, two teams of paranormal investigators one trying to disprove the other to prove the existence of ghosts and demons, sadly it wasn't exploited to its potential.
The story is surprisingly good if a little boring and predictable, the haunted place had a lot of detail put into it which made it believable.
But the big problem here is the incredible overacting to the point where i started laughing at the delivery of lines that were supposed to be serious and emotional. The two main culprits here are the leaders of the two teams (especially the so called exorcist) who are just not believable in their roles and it completely breaks immersion and you just don't give a shit.
Too bad, it could've been a good found footage film if they didn't screw up the casting.

"Some" good effects, but crap story and acting wasn't very believable.

Another "reality show ghost hunters find a ghost" movie. Started OK, but got ridiculous very quickly.

The acting...
The writing...
It... hurts...

I have no idea what I expected from a film that was like a parody to the whole "Ghost Hunter", "Paranormal Activity" (whatever else show SyFi has in store for it ;)) stuff.
I'm also not sure if these expectations were reached or not...let's just say, a captivating story is something else.

It was okay. There were some good, spooky bits early on, but the ending is terrible and unsatisfying.

So good and then the ending just completely kills it, not enough for me to really give a bad rating for it though since I enjoyed the majority of the film.

While "Episode 50" contains some legitimately spooky imagery and shocks, these things are squandered by a film that doesn't know how to exploit them. An undercooked plot, an unpolished cast, and a look that is mostly free of style and appeal help do this film in. Still, there are worse low-budget horror flicks out there; and, for some people, the frightening imagery mentioned above might supply enough satisfaction to make the experience worthwhile.
