Although my review will be horribly bias as I am an enormous fan of Final Fantasy I still thought I should at least review it to the best of my abilities.
The movie is a visual masterpiece and for a movie from 2006 it is far beyond its time, the soundtrack is just as enthralling. How Tetsuya Nomura can make a fight scene look so incredibly delicate is a mystery.
The final Fantasy games were marvelously put together and just as stunning as the movie yet lacked the soul that was put into the cut scenes when it came to the game play. The movie was no exception, although my eyes and ears were in a complete trance my brain…

Amazing visually and the story backs it up. Played Final Fantasy 7? Watch this!

Being a sequel to one of the world's best ever games, FF7: AC had a lot to live up to, and for Final Fantasy fans it didn't disappoint.
Never more than five minutes away from a homage to the original game - whether it be a musical nudge-nudge, or a visual wink-wink - AC feels more of a homage than a true sequel, and as such, can be a little off-putting to people who haven't played FF7.
Full of hammy dialogue, but absolutely stunning to look at, this is perfect popcorn entertainment, especially on Blu-Ray with the Complete edition.

To this day I'm still inlove with this movie. I always have a copy of the special edition in my house that I watch when I have nothing to do, or when someone visits and makes the mistake of saying: "What's this? I never seen this.."
So I kinda lost the count on the number of times I've seen it.
It's just that good. -
This review reportedly contains spoilers. I can handle the truth.

Awesome film but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who hasn't played final fantasy 7 or knows nothing about it cause you will probably find this boring.

The original costumes look better.

I really like the game series and so was a bit skeptical about the movie, to be honest. Beautiful animation, it was like watching every cut scene from the game that someone had spliced together to make run continuously.

After finally playing through FF7, I re-watched this with far more understanding. It was fun, but unnecessary in my opinion. I feel that it does not add too much to the game itself, but rather leaves you wondering if the game was completed. It was as if the film tried to encompass the entire game in some awesome CGI in under an hour and half.
It was fun to see all of the characters and the fight against Bahamut

This is a movie i love every time i watch it and being a fan of the video game series i love this movie and i love the world but i love how this is the aftermath of the 7th game which i would like to see more video game movies do these the characters we love and the story we love but put it after the events of of the game. I love how the main character is dealing with something bu himself while the world is suffering and some mystery characters have show up looking for mother. Then we have the appearance from someone from the video game that plays an important part and i love the look of the film i just love this film and it feels like a real final fantasy story and better then any of the recent games.

Great movie, but wouldn't make any sense if you didn't already know the story from the game.

Advent Children, as it was released in 2005, is a vague mess of a film, with little explanation as to what's going on, why certain characters are doing certain things, or indeed why Cloud is feeling so sorry for himself. Unless you're a big fan of FFVII, it's probably only worth about 2 stars, simply for the flashy action sequences.
Advent Children Complete, a "director's cut" of sorts released in 2010, is a different story; whilst being longer and perhaps harder to sit through for some, it has major gains in plot coherency and character exposition. It might not amount to much for the casual viewer, but it makes all the difference to the fans left disappointed by the original…
