Not a horror/comedy in the traditional sense, but more in a deliciously odd and morbid way. Paul Morrissey reexamines Mary Shelley's classic tale with his focus on moral depravity and sexuality which he explores with bizarrely distorted intellectualism. Udo Kier (who is now known for his brief supporting roles) plays Baron Frankenstein, a crazed scientist striving to create the perfect Serbian race to worship him. He already has his female specimen (Dalila Di Lazzaro), so all that is left is to find the perfect head and mind to complete his male specimen. Disrupting his path is his wife/sister Katrin (Monique van Vooren), his two eerily wandering children, and two farmhands, Nicholas (Joe Dallesandro) and Sacha (Srdjan Zelenovic).

Acting aside; Flesh For Frankenstein is an interestingly shot film with some stunning set design and enough gooey innards splattered across the screen to keep the gore fans satisfied.
Perverse, inappropriate, unintentionally hilarious and only a genital shot or two away from being considered soft-core porn.

An interesting take on the age-old Frankenstein story. Udo Kier as Baron Frankenstein and the ever so slightly twisted sense of humor make it a fun watch.

#98 of Top 100 Best Horror Films
I'm still not sure what exactly I just watched but I enjoyed most of it. Apart from the cheesy over the top delivery of lines and the distracting sound, it's a fun movie w/ great sets and lots of gore.

Paul Morrissey's dark comedy/horror radical re-shaping of the novel by Mary Wallstonecraft Shelley. A wild ride filled with humor, violence and would you believe social commentary.

Having already seen Blood for Dracula, I was disappointed with Paul Morrissey's prior horror attempt, Flesh for Frankenstein.
The cast were all good, but no single actor stood out as exceptional. The children were surprisingly good, which is rarely the case. Unfortunately, there was a single anomaly in the otherwise forgivable cast, Baron Frankenstein0 (Udo Kier). I grew to enjoy his performance in Blood for Dracula, it was easy to be drawn in by his weakness. This weakness gave Udo wonderful range to show off his ability. The character of Dr. Frankenstein doesn't lend himself to a 'range' of emotions, which led Udo pouring all of his talent into mugging when angry. When he's not angry, he's thankfully far more…

Wildly funny, the baron's sidekick Arno Jürging chews the scenery more than Udo Kier. Very poor taste, even in 2013. Great

η μόνη ταινία που θα ήθελα να δω retrofitted σε 3D, μόνο και μόνο για την σκηνή με το αιωρούμενο συκώτι.

Flesh For Frankenstein

"To know death, Otto, you must fuck life in the gall bladder.” The main purpose of this sick, hilarious cult classic (originally shown in 3-D) seems to have been to out-sex and out-gore the Hammer "Frankenstein" films. Udo Kier is magnificently batshit as the twisted Baron Frankenstein, who creates a beautiful woman (Frankenbabe?) and proceeds to mount her. Then he notices his demented assistant Otto (Arno Juerging) staring at him and snaps “Vhat are you looking at? You feelthy thing! Turn around!” The Baron also creates a male monster by decapitating a hapless guy studying to be a monk; the blood from his stump spurts into the audience. Joe Dallesandro is a horny shepherd (with an unexplained Brooklyn accent) who…
