Merveilleux documentaire. Comme un petit voyage dans le passé. Intéressant et très touchant de voir ces images d'une autre époque, d'un autre Québec, filmées pour la suite du monde.

Wonderful documentary. Like a time travel into the past. It is interesting and very touching to see those images from another time, from another Québec, filmed for the ones to come.

Pretty cool little depiction of a small Quebec village that decides to bring back a traditional whale hunt.

Magnifique document historique et ethnologique. La "parlure" de ce temps, c'est beau à entendre.

I still can't believe what a little miracle of a documentary this is.

Making it once again confounding that with so many excellent documentaries made 50 years ago, how so many made today are so bad. What have they been doing for 50 years!?

This movie was unintentionally tense for me. Somewhere in there, I became convinced their intent was to hunt and kill whales. I am not sure if I missed something or if this was just not clear at first, but I watched in horror until the very end before I was convinced this was not going to be a cetacean snuff film, an Edisonian exploitation. Thankfully, no whales die. Given that this is a film apparently cited as one of the…
