Forbidden Photos of a Lady Above Suspicion
1970 ‘Le foto proibite di una signora per bene’ Directed by Luciano Ercoli
Synopsis
A triangle of friendship, love, sex, and, perhaps, murder.
A triangle of friendship, love, sex, and, perhaps, murder. Minou is newly married to Peter, a businessman in debt as he works to bring a new product to market. They met through Dominique, sexually voracious, Minou's best friend, and Peter's former (and possibly still) lover. A stranger accosts Minou one night on the beach while Peter is away. He tells her that Peter has murdered a business associate and blackmails her into sleeping with him. He compounds the blackmail with photos taken of their tryst. To Minou's surprise, this same stranger is in a pornographic photo Dominique has imported from Denmark. Is this all a game, and if so, who's behind it?

A highly recommended colorful, sexy, sleazy suspense thriller from the land of milk and spaghetti. Included is a masterful sex scene on top of a bear skin rug and a bangin' score by Ennio Morricone.
Best served with a glass of J&B, but I settled for Kentucky bourbon.

"Are those pornographic pictures?" "Yes, but good ones!"

Well-shot giallo about a wife who gets caught up in a web of blackmail and deception. Dagmar Lassander is OK in the lead but it's Nieves Navarro who steals the show as her sexy, stylish and perverse gal pal.

Unusual giallo that keeps you involved to the very end...

Despite having almost no sleaze (considering the title has the phrase "forbidden photos" in it), I found myself both intrigued and entertained by Forbidden Photos of a Lady Above Suspicion. I think the reason I was most surprised about my enjoyment of the film was that I absolutely hated the main character of Minou. The story revolved around a man blackmailing Minou for sexual favors based on a story he's feeding her about Minou's husband killing a man. Minou is completely dependent on her husband and succumbs to the blackmailer easily every time to "protect him." The woman had no fight and is an embarrassment to female leads everywhere. I couldn't believe that she was supposed to be the protagonist…

A plot more predictable than scooby doo is saved by some great direction, photography and wardrobe.

Just watched THE FORBIDDEN PHOTOS OF A LADY ABOVE SUSPICION, directed by Luciano Ercoli. I love the title, but the movie itself is so-so. This is an Italian mystery movie about a woman who is being blackmailed by a guy who refuses to take money as payment. This movie reeks of the 70's, and disco seems to be in full bloom, so this movie is kind of interesting as a time-capsule of sorts. Aside from that, this movie uses the tired routine of showing some form of evidence or clue, and then having it disappear; "But it was just here an hour ago...I swear!"

Marvellous, super stylish giallo and if it doesn’t have lots of murders it does have Dagmar Lassander and Susan Scott (Nieves Navarro) both vying for our attention. Decent, plot development and even if it becomes a little far fetched by the end we are still held fascinated till the final frame. Nice and stylish with fabulous costumerie and room settings with a fabulous score from Morricone. Fair amount of flesh and certainly some erotic moments and shades of SM. Amazing to think of it now but not only do we have the two leading ladies laughing over the latest pornographic pictures from Denmark but Lassander at one point declares that she would adore being violated!
