Reviews of Forrest Gump 1994

I am watching Forrest Gump. It is a nice film about a simple man who is not very smart. He does lots of things in the film like fighting in army and he loves to go running. It's hard to not watch this movie and just be drawn into every aspect of this man's life.
From absolutely jaw-dropping acting (I feel that even to this day Sally Field doesn't get the recognition she deserves. A cinematic masterpiece. This period piece depicts the events of the early 1950's-1980's through a humble mentally disabled character, Forrest Gump (Tom Hanks). A very thought provoking movie, with many strong dynamic characters each playing their own specific role in Forrest's life. Would highly recommend.

1994 goes down in history with 1941 among the strongest years in cinematic history. The fact that Forrest Gump was able to beat Pulp Fiction for Best Picture alone should tell you that it's a great movie.
What makes it great? It's not just that Tom Hanks is able, like De Niro did decades earlier, to play a mentally challenged man without a hint of satire. Forrest Gump stands proudly alongside the classic "epic films" as the epic of America…
