The first two segments are pretty poor but Rodriguez and Tarantino make up for it, mostly by toning down Roth's performance. His whimsiness doesn't work for me in the first half.

Not much good other than Rodriguez's section and Tarantino's finale, but they're good enough to make up for the short-comings of the previous two segments. Tim Roth hams it up, but the over-acting carries him through all four 'rooms' with only a smidgon of embarrassment. All in all though, thoroughly enjoyable.

Four segments by four different directors with each segment led by a hilarious Tim Roth as Ted the Bellboy. Here's what I thought of each (might have mild spoilers).
Honeymoon Suite: The Missing Ingredient...by Alison Anders
A coven of witches (including an awful Madonna) try to create a potion but they need one more ingredient in one hour...jizz (eww)...after one of the witches swallowed instead of retrieved (ewwww).
Worst segment. Not a very good short, in fact the story sucks, but Tim Roth makes it watchable. He's comedic timing is just genius. He's as over the top as he is in the following shorts, but he's so over the top it's golden.Room 404: The Wrong Man...by Alexandre Rockwell

It's pretty funny to see Rodriguez making a kids movie like Spy Kids inside of a very adult film.
Worth it just for Tarantino's room though. That entire scene was perfectly executed and is paced so well.
I have NOTHING to say about the first half...

Been meaning to watch this for a while, It didn't meet my expectations but I still thought it was pretty decent.
I enjoyed Robert Rodriguez story the most (youd think it was Tarantinos though with the whole feet smelling and giant needles)

If all segments would be so successful and funny as room nr. 3, this would be another, amazing Quentin Tarantino movie. But - from 4 rooms, I liked only 3. Maybe even 2, who cares.

I was 19, it was my first Toronto Film Fest ever and this was the hottest ticket at the Festival. My best friend and I stood in the rush line for 9 hours and were 2 of 5 people to get in. Sadly, the movie did not live up to the crazy-ass experience of being in line, even though 3 of my favourite directors - Anders, Tarantino and Rodriguez - were there. Sigh...

A really weird little movie about a bellboy who goes through various life threatening events in 4 different rooms in a hotel. Each room is directed by a different director. The first 2 rooms were rather boring and stupid but watchable. It's the third and fourth, directed by Rodriguez and Tarantino that were quite amusing. It's overall just silly fun.

An exercise in exhaustion.

a film that is okay with the exception of Tarantino's and Rodríguez's segments. But if there is one thing besides those that get this a great rating it is Ted The Bellhop. I love this character he is charming and likable yet mean and greedy he is fantastic. for those reasons i suggest you give it a watch.

The rest of the film, though entertaining in parts, pails in comparison to Tarantinos final instalment. Bruce Willis has never been funnier.

Four episodes were filmed four "great and mighty": Allison Anders, Alexandre Rockwell, Robert Rodriguez, Quentin Tarantino.
The third and the fourth episodes are inimitable! Why? Look who made it above!
