Freaky Friday
2003 Directed by Mark S. Waters
Synopsis
Mondays are manic. Wednesdays are wild. And Fridays are about to get a little freaky.
Jamie Lee Curtis stars as Tess Coleman, mother of 15-year-old Anna (Lindsay Lohan), in this remake of the 1976 Jodie Foster comedy. Mother and daughter bicker over everything -- what Anna wears, whom she likes and what she wants to do when she's older. In turn, Anna detests Tess's fiancé (Mark Harmon). When a magical fortune cookie switches their personalities, they each get a peek at how the other person feels, thinks and lives.

I saw a picture on FB earlier relating to this movie and it made me want to watch it. I haven't seen it in years but I use to really like it along with Mean Girls.. it still holds up. It's a fun movie and I enjoy it as much as I did when it first came out.

Ah.. Lindsay Lohan...what happened to you? This girl really had a bright future.. Attractive, pretty good actress, decent singer..then... This movie showcases Lindsay "in her prime". Story has been pretty much played out on the big screen (Like Father-Like Son, Vice Versa, The Change Up) however i have found laughs in all of them! Jamie Lee is funny as well but the dramatic role of the movie has to be Lindsay's(ok Jamie Lee's dinner speech is pretty good too) .. Favorite part has to be Jamie Lee when seeing herself in the mirror after the switch saying "I look like the Cryptkeeper!" LOL!! Good film for the entire family!

It's no Mean Girls, because Lindsay Lohan is actually pretty awful in this one. She did make some great teenage girl dramas though. Fortunately, Jamie Lee Curtis is hilarious; that was the only thing I found slightly appealing about this film.

No wonder that Mark Waters, the guy who made one year later the brilliant teen film Mean Girls, was also responsible for directing this not less brilliant and charming comedy. Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan are both at the top of their game here in Freaky Friday, an exceptionally entertaining and at times hilarious comedy that may easily rank as both a great teen flick and as a great family film.

Jamie Lee Curtis is nothing short of miraculous here. Mark Waters is making a film full of broad comedy and sappiness, but Curtis gives her scenes specificity and charm. It's a certifiable star turn made even better by her willingness to let age be the butt of so many jokes. Lindsay Lohan can't keep up with Curtis's youthful energy, but she's serviceable.

It was fun to watch, a stupid movie for sure, but funny. I really was in the perfect mood to watch this, otherwise I would've probably hated it, but I actually enjoyed it in it's own merits and also in a so bad it's funny way. The music was so cheesy and yet I enjoyed that... my conclusion is that the stars aligned to allow me to enjoy this movie.

An entertaining and enjoyable family film, with a great performance from Jamie Lee Curtis. She's better than the movie is.

Ah, kids- what with their damn rock and roll music and their sarcasm and their retroactively poignant charisma. Middling remake of Jodie Foster movie, but tolerable enough when it's not trying to teach us an important lesson about bridging the generation gap (because apparently it's always 1971 somewhere).

Exactly what you would expect. Good comedy to watch for a small chuckle and opportunities to yell at the screen. Sometimes it just felt like a montage of girls bitching about things, though. Overall another severely mediocre early 2000's comedy movie.
