I am a huge Beatles fan and especially admired much of George Harrison's post Beatle work. I was very excited at the prospect of a Martin Scorcese directed biography of Harrison. The film is very good as Scorcese delivers a memorable portrait of the "Quiet" Beatle.
The Fab Four's early days are lovingly and, at times, touchingly detailed. I was happy that many previously unseen Beatles photos are featured along with interviews with such early key figures as Klaus Voorman and Astrid Kutcher. The impact of Stu Sutcliff's death is also poignantly explored. Harrison's discontent with the band from it's earliest days is detailed in depth. His frustration is palpable especially in the famous argument with Paul from "Let It…

The final interview with Ringo Starr breaks my heart.

Brilliant but lengthy overview of the "quiet Beatle". I love George a lot, especially his songs in the last few years of the Beatles, and everything from All Things Must Pass. Martin Scorsese has crafted a stunning documentary, although I think it presents a very positive side of the man and his music, perhaps kindly not dwelling on his weaker albums and his womanising. Fair play; he is a Beatle.

-
Great archive footage and interviews. 3.5 hour length allows for full immersion in the subject but despite this very little of his allegedly less savoury side is touched on and doc verges on hagiography.

Martin Scorsese directed documentary about my favourite Beatle. George Harrison was a complex man and the film sticks with that rather than focus entirely on his music.

Martin Scorsese crea un asombroso retrato con "George Harrison: Living In The Material World".
