I just wish there was a Quantum Leap style tv spinoff called 'Ghosts' (with an 's'). It's all about Whoopi hooking up with different ghosts and then using them to steal money from banks and stuff.

I went to see this in 1990 when I was 12, why there were 3 boys seeing this as their choice of film for a Friday or Saturday. What I remember most about this film was being accused by my friends for crying at the end. Now I can hand on heart say that I did not cry at the end of the film (that time I watched it anyway).
I have some great nostalgic memories of this film and have seen it a couple of times since and this was a really good revisit. It is very much of it's time, the computers, the clothing and the attitudes. It is good old fashioned romantic comedy with a nice fantasy twist.
This has a level of nostalgia for me but I think that it still holds today and is a fun watch, Whoopi at her best

Been a long time since I've seen this and I recall it being so much better than this. I will say that the late Vincent Schiavelli should of been in everything and every movie should have a pottery sex scene in it.

STORY
Sam Wheat and Molly Jensen are a well-off, loving couple who are very close to getting married and settling into their new home. Sam is killed in a robbery down a dark Chicago street and Molly must try to move on. Unfortunately, Sam's death was not, shall we say, "complete". I won't say anything else, even though you can probably guess part of the plot already by the title of the film. The story of Ghost is extremely predictable. Certain cues are in place to let the audience know pretty much exactly what will happen. There are a few surprise moments, but for the most part, very predictable.
The story is unique. Most love stories just settle for the…

I must be one of few 40-something women who waited more than 20 years to see this. Not so much waited for it, as avoided it.
Well it wasn't as bad as I expected, as once Patrick Swayze's character died the film became quite funny (intentionally) and at points fittingly sad. One shouldn't speak ill of those who really are dead, but Patrick Swayze was the weak link, the acting of Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg carried him through this film, they made it worthwhile.

I never much liked this movie but it made my Mom cry and she never cries at anything.

A cute, inoffensive supernatural romance, but a lot of the acclaim is puzzling.

Ghost is one of those films that I knew all about, but just had never watched. My mum is a big fan of it, and of Swayze and Moore, so I thought I'd watch it with her and see why it's become so famous.
I did really enjoy it.
I found it somewhat cheesy and predictable - although I think the film's plot and its' key scenes have all become so well-known, that it becoming cliche is inevitable really - but it's still a good film with solid performances, believable chemistry and a well-rounded illustration of grief.
I enjoyed Goldberg and Swayze's bickering the most, I thought Whoopi was hilarious.

Cute. Whoopi Goldberg is great. Worth watching when it comes on & you're doing nothing else.
