I'm going to openly review this as an educated black male who is now a director in a corporation: this is the most honest portrayal of the hurdles a black man faced back then. Not over-the-top, 'us white people are going to stop you at all costs' racism like what's usually shown, but just truthful. This is how it was and is, for me at least: shocking bits of overt racism here and there, but they are far and few…
Charming but predictable. I saw this movie at my college and at the end everyone clapped at the end, yes i know. I felt this movie could have done better if it wasn't for all the unnecesary cheesy bits. The script was good-written in my opinion, the direction was just deplorable.
