Not quite as good as King Hu's excellent Come Drink With Me (Cheng Pei-Pei's first outing as 'Golden Swallow'), but definitely a worthy follow-up by maestro Chang Cheh.

The second movie with Cheng Pei-pei as Golden Swallow is for me a big disappointment. Wang Yu might have been the shit those days, but to me this was just another wasted potential of the Golden Swallow character.

If you like your Wuxia way melodramatic and bloody, it's worth a look. Not as good as King Hu's Come Drink With Me (to which this film is basically of a sequel, but Cheng Pei-Pei's role is sadly much more passive in this film), too overlong to be as good as Chang Cheh's block buster of the previous year, The One Armed Swordsman
