Clint Eastwood directs this stellar film which he also produced and starred as Walt Kowalski; a gruff, retired Polish American assembly line worker and Korean War veteran (his first role in 4 years after 'Million Dollar Baby').

Walt is recently widowed and thus alienated from his family and angry at the world who lives in a quiet area with his pet dog Daisy. Walt's young neighbor, Thao Vang Lor (Bee Vang), is pressured into stealing Walt's prized 1972 Ford Gran…

This film covers a lot of ground. Generational, racial, economical and religious but the underlying theme, for me, is there is no greater love than a man who lays down his life for a friend.

linta Īstvuda varonis paša režisētajā filmā ir reāls cilvēknīdējs. Korejas kara veterāns, visu mūžu nostrādājis Forda rūpnīcā, Amerikas patriots, kurš neliekas ne zinis par saviem dēliem pat savas sievas bērēs. Vīrs, kurš mācītāju pasūta vienu māju tālāk un spītīgi turpina dzīvot kvartālā no kura sen jau visi pieklājīgie ļautiņi aizbraukuši. Vienīgais ko šis ņerga mīl ir viņa auto GranTorino. Un pilnam komplektam blakus mājā ievācās kāda korejiešu ģimene, kurai mantojumā līdzi nāk visnotaļ bandītiski noskaņoti radinieki, kuri nolūkojuši tieši vecā…

I remember when the rumors started flying that this was going to be a "Dirty Harry" sequel. When I found out that wasn't the case, I was disappointed. Then I saw the movie, and I couldn't have been so wrong. This might be one of Eastwood's greatest roles, and connecting it with a popcorn hero like Callahan would've been a huge mistake.

Full of real characters and relationships that mean something. It's a journey of a man finding that human connection with the people that surround him, even though they may not be what he expects or what he expects of himself.

BRILLIANT FILM! Probably my favourite of the year so far. It made me laugh, it made me angry, it opened my eyes, and it made me cry SOOOOO much at the end! I was utterly raptured throughout. Never seen a Clint Eastwood film before, so it felt like a bit of a treat! He was marvellous as Walt, and loveable even if he was a bad tempered old racist! I loved how he growled at everything - it made people…
