Fairly decent political thriller, with a great concept, good execution and some pretty good action scenes.
Even though Matt Damon is basically Bourne in Iraq and the camera seems to be having some kind of fit. They really should have got that checked out at some point. However, the ending is also pretty good, and Greg Kinnear's intelligence chief makes for a suitably slimy bad guy.
And Jason Isaacs is in it as well. Which to be honest, is enough justification for watching this anyway. -
I thought I was going to see a modern-war movie following the path of The Hurt Locker, but instead I got some kind of boring political thriller where a soldier just do and go wherever he wants.
All the military aspects of the film are just wiped out, to just let some chases and helicopters randomly inserted to provide some "action". This could have been understandable if it was for the sake of the plot and to make it less…

I know that a lot of people like to hate the war movies about Iraq, but i thought this was awesome. Matt Damon kicks some ass as he reunites with the director of the 2nd and 3rd Bourne films, Paul Greengrass. Although the subject matter may be a little played out, I thought the movie as a whole was great. From the acting to the directing to the action. Matt Damon has truly become a very good actor IMO

While I have never been a real fan of the Bourne movies, I still admire director Paul Greengrass and his expertise when it comes to filming action. This movie trades in most of the high octane fight scenes with what they like to call "thrilling story and dialogue." That couldnt be farther from the truth. It was ok, and had a nice tinfoil hat conspiracy theory vibe, but other than that it was a bland, grainy, and shakeycam mess that…

Good solid film that sidesteps characters and personality in favour of subject matter and realisim. Good acting from Damon with good build up from Greengrass make for an exciting last quarter, however there is a lot more to this film that could have been delivered. Its a fine film to add to the Greengrass cannon.

Bourne Again? I think not...
Greengrass and Damon are back together again in this overt political stab at the Bush Administration. There isnt a coffe table or bar in the world that hasnt heard the debate as to the real reason that the US went to war with Iraq for a second time. Was it oil, the need to boost their ailing economy with military spending or just a chance for Dubba Bush to actually look like he was doing…

A fast-paced action film in which Damon, an actor I'm not normally particularly fond of, is very convincing. If you like Greengrass' style or enjoyed the frenetic chaos of the military scenes in 'Black Hawk Down', you'll probably be entertained enough to forgive the, regrettably, mediocre script.
