It's melodramatic as hell, it's dated, it's a bit predictable, too many coincidences for my tastes, and the story has some other problems on top of that, but thanks to the very strong performances and very stronger chemistry between Tupac and Tim Roth, this was watchable and enjoyable.

I was incredibly surprised by this film. It came up as a Netflix recommendation and I ended up watching it in its entirety.
Gridlock'd is a solid 90s gangsta film starring Tim Roth and Tupac Shakur. The story follows the characters as they try get into a rehab clinic and have to deal with mountains of red tape whilst simultaneously being chased by gangsters and cops.
Shakur and Roth have an amazing chemistry together as actors and essentially carry the entire film. The storyline is a hopeless mission and the characters show a great perseverance whilst at the same time not getting to deep into the reality of the situation, which is the broken public MedicAid system in America.
I really enjoyed this film, the directing was even quite solid with interesting, but not strained technique. With the fantastic acting of Shakur and Roth, you can forgive and cliches and melodrama offered by the plot.

Tupac was so good in this, a charming rouge. Such a waste. Goes withouT saying that Tim Roth was brilliant too.

Great performances in a realistic story with a lot of heart. Well shot with a story that flows lyrically.

When people see Tupac they probably think this is some corny gangsta film with lots of sex profanity and violence, but its not like that at all. He and Tim Roth play 2 characters who try to kick their drug habit after a friend of theirs(Thandie Newton) has had an over dose. Part comedy, part social commentary and a pretty good movie. sadly overlooked.
