Although I haven’t seen either of the big budget Snow White films released this year I can guarantee both are significantly better than this predictably sorry cash-in. Asylum Studios continue to peddle their trash but by their standards this film actually looks quite good with some surprisingly atmospheric shots of the Austrian woodlands. This is practically the only positive I can muster though in a film that is otherwise devoid of obvious merit.
Although Grimm may be in the title this is far from a faithful adaptation. Ignoring the blonde hair of Snow White the film does away with dwarves (I guess they are too expensive) in favour of elves (clearly they bought a job lot of Vulcan ears from…

The Asylum production house are known for creating cheap knock offs of the latest Hollywood Blockbusters on a shoestring budget, here they take on this years Mirror, Mirror & Snow White & The Huntsman, with Grimm's Snow White.
The first thing you realise is that other than the central character Snow White (Played by Eliza Hope Bennett (Inkheart) and quite frankly is way, way to good to be in things like this) everything bears absolutely no resemblance to the story whatsoever.
You have CGi Dragons, Mutant Guard Dogs, gone are the Dwarves and they are replaced by Elves that act like Vulcans and speak Klingon, there's even an Elf called Orlando *Nudge, nudge, wink, wink*
Over all this a so mental its funny movie, that just so happens to be about a 1000 times better than SWatH with Bennett being a far, far greater leading lady. If only they had swapped the leads around.
