Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle
2004 Directed by Danny Leiner
Synopsis
Fast Food. High Times.
Sometimes, it takes a strange night to put everything else into focus. And that's exactly what happens to Harold and his roommate, Kumar, when they set out to get the best stoner fix money can buy: White Castle hamburgers. Both guys are at a crossroads, about to make major decisions that will affect the course of their lives. Yet they arrive at wisdom by accident as they drive around New Jersey in search of fast food.

"Did Doogie Houser just steal my fucking car?"

Starting with a humerus albeit cliché scene where the 'quiet Asian guy' in the office gets pushed around, Harold & Kumars' first adventure begins. As they fight there way though obstacles in their search for the perfect food, laughs and tongue and cheek moments are common place. Definitely one of the most memorable comedy movies, I find myself describing every late night adventure as "Harold & Kumar-ish".

I was clearly not the intended audience for this movie but I saw it anyway because I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I’d expected no great things and I still ended up disappointed. In recent memory, I’ve seen The Hangover, Pineapple Express and Tropic Thunder, and I did not like any of those either. I’ll have to make a point to stay away from movies in this genre, no matter how highly they may be rated.

Much like the delicious burgers that fuel the plot, Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle is cheap but satisfying enough to warrant the ride.

Funnier high.

This doesn't transcend the stoner comedy genre, but it's a perfectly fine example of it. And it might not seem like it, but the fact that it stars an Asian American and an Indian American is kind of a big deal. Of course, we haven't exactly been flooded by imitators in the years since, but it's a start.

Pretty sure you'd have to be a stoner to really enjoy this film, but those who aren't are just left with a fairly average comedy.

I hadn't seen this in about 4 or 5 years and I gotta be honest, I didn't laugh nearly as much as I remembered. I knocked it down a full star from 4 to 3 with this new revelation Which is totally understandable considering I first saw this when I was 25 and I partied way more than I do now so a film ion which 2 guys smoke a shit ton of weed and hunt for White Castle for an entire night and get into shenanigans continuously.
Don't get me wrong, I still liked the film and I still laughed a some of the things I used to, like the scene with the British girls shitting and the scene…

The perfect saturday night movie! And the film that reinvigorated Neil Patrick Harris' career. He totally steals the show.
