Yoshihiro Nishimura’s high-energy splatterthon Helldriver is a film in which the criticism I have to offer appears beyond the point because a description of certain scenes in the film is all that’s needed to convince any prospective audience to take a chance on it. So when I say that Helldriver, in its first thirty minutes, has a lengthy scene where the robotically-enhanced heroine, armed with a weapon that hybridizes a chainsaw and a katana, is fighting an army of alien zombies, all of which are wielding chainsaws, and manages to sever all of their arms, at which point the arms, still holding the chainsaws, continue to advance on her… well, if you made it through that description and are currently…

Yoshihiro Nishimura's HELLDRIVER is a literally unexplainable film experience. Another example that you can do anything in a movie. ANYTHING. Like make a car out of zombie body parts or use a pickup truck in a sword fight. Yet, HELLDRIVER still has characters and a point. This is for everyone who liked TOKYO GORE POLICE but needed more characters to care about. This movie has at least two. I really liked that the title card doesn't show up until 48 minutes(!) in.

Yoshihiro Nishimura koker her sammen en sedvanlig idiotisk…

Insane Japanese gore. Brings new meaning to the phrase "Jumping the Shark". Pure fun.

Nishimura strikes agains in this well-humored exploitation.
It could get better if Yumiko Hara and Shiina exchanged roles. -
Good fun, but outstays its welcome.

Swear to God, this movie deserves a special shout-out to the Japanese Hose Wranglers Union #24.

Drags on a bit in the middle, but is worth watching if you love outrageous modern Japanese gore movies of this type (Think Tokyo Gore Police or Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl). This would definitely be a lot better had it been 30 minutes shorter.

Even though i kind of enjoyed Machine Girl and really liked Tokyo Gore Police, this was a complete waste of time... What a terrible start to my 31 days of horror!
