This is the type of horror movie that gives the entire genre a bad name. I went into it fairly open minded, hoping to find a hidden gem. It's been known to happen, a movie that's said to be so awful actually being enjoyable. It has happened. This is not one of those times.
The amazingly stupid plot of the movie is that our protagonist Mary, played by Laura Breckenridge, is drunkenly driving home from a bar that her and all the other high schoolers of the town appear to be able to drink in openly. As she is driving she swerves two miles off the road to avoid a piece of garbage or a piece of tire and when…
Kevin Corrigan stars as "The Hitchhiker from Creepshow 2". Low budget, mid-2000's, direct-to-video, tonal shifting, amatuer-ish, shitty digital videographed horror wackiness ensues.
"Hey lady! Thanks for the riiiide, laaaadyyyy!!!"
A film with very few likeable characters.
A girl, Laura Breckenridge, is out drinking when she decides to drive home , she swerves to avoid a road obstacle and crashes. She doesn't know it but she has impaled, Kevin Corrigan, on her front bumper.
Once she realizes he is on her bumper she attempts to help him but he grabs her ankle. Freaking out, she grabs the nearest weapon and bashes him over the head a few times.
What's the next thing to do, get rid of the evidence?
After sobering up she realizes she left evidence with the body.
This is when the fun really begins.
Decent makeup EFX and a ton of blood.
This seemed more like a MoH episode then a full blown movie but it keep me intrigued.
I love the end.
Undone by questionable performance choices, cheeseball cinematic flourishes, and head-scratching story beats, "Hit and Run" fails to make a positive impression even if it starts off watchably enough. The horror film about a young woman whose accidental run-in with a man on a drive home from a party leads to macabre consequences is kind of a "Mrs. Todd's Shortcut" meets "The Tell-Tale Heart." Guilt and the man himself lead to terror for the protagonist, and the experience engages until its aforementioned weakness catch up with it. It all crumbles into a throwaway thriller with a solid highlight or two.
Hit and Run is a 2009 horror movie that is loosely based on the 2002 case of Chante Mallard.
The film follows a college student named Mary, who drives home drunk one night and accidentally hits a man without realising until she gets home and finds him attached to her cars bumper. She panics and things go from bad to worse when the man comes back for revenge.
I feel like this film would have made more sense if they had gone with the original title “Bumper”, considering you never see her hit someone. The antagonist is strange, and they blame his whole behaviour on mental illness, which to me takes away the scare factor and it just becomes sad. …
boy, I really should be more careful. On my "to see" list there is a film called Hit and Run. Imagine my joy when the MGM network was unblocked this past week and amongst the films offered fer free was one titled Hit and Run.
I should have checked the synopsis and film date of my to see list, as this bit of unwatchable shlock was not the 2012 Tom Arnold comedy that Roger Ebert gave 3.5 (out of 4) to.
To be honest I couldn't even watch more than 20minutes of bad editing, god awful acting and an insane plot. In a nutshell: in the first 20 minutes you have a college age girl drinking in a bar -…
This move is more or less based on a true story. And there are critics because of "white washing". The real woman was Black.
Do you really want to be associated with a character this evil and reprehensible?
While the ending was redeeming enough to boost it half a star it is till an unlikable movie with unlikable characters and the guy who was hit becoming this evil thing to give us a "final girl" was just drek.
SKIP
A couple of good ideas but not quite executed well.
Also some of that shaky camera shots remind me of a 7 year old holding a torch on beach for their dad when fishing at night…..point on everything except the fish I’m trying to unhook.
Quarantine movie #109
Anton Chigurh goes full Mike Tyson in what can only be described as Drake and Josh.
It’s not a Hit and when you see this movie, Run.
Oh boy! What started out as a generic "girl runs over man and man takes revenge" turns into a really nasty, blood-thirsty slasher movie. I thought it was good the way it didn't resort to quiet, quiet BANG - but oh dear! This is NOT a good film! Shame, could have been enjoyable but just went over the top on gore!
