I might as well rate this and the original the same, as it's so ridiculously the same film done again. At least Tim Curry was awesome in his role and this is where I first discovered the classic song Cool Jerk.

Not gonna lie, I'm really only adding this because I know it was the third film I saw in a theater, and the first I saw at a local dollar theater that has been a lifelong staple ever since.
Simply put: This is Home Alone redone in New York, but I get more nostalgic over this than the original. The music in this feels more magical. The pigeon lady, the turtledove ornaments, TIM CURRY. It's all just better...to me.

A fantastic and very worthy sequel with the whole Plaza Hotel setting expanding the film while not taking too far away from what made us love the original the fantastic Tim Curry (sublime) and Dana Ivey are welcome additions.
