Very troubling film indeed, two working class psychos get invited to a party by some idle rich kids and unleash a night of violence and rape. It's clear that Deodato's sympathies lie not with the apparent victims, but the antagonists. The portrayal of the rich is not a million miles away from Brett Easton Ellis, The sexual politics are all the more disturbing because the film is intelligent and well made.

Deodato is a great film maker. He may not make the films that everyone likes but he does make good films. This isn't a brutal as Cannibal Holocaust but it's just as powerful. A brilliant hand held style puts you right at the heart of the action as two psycho's kick the living shit out of some uptight yuppies. Mental.

While Italian director Ruggero Deodato is most famous for "Cannibal Holocaust", this one comes in a close second. And while it has all the trademarks of your typical exploitation film (low budget, unnecessary nudity, gratuitous violence), it's actually a better film than I expected.
It's about a psychopath named Alex. When he's not raping and killing women, he runs a car repair shop. One night he and his flunky friend Ricky help a couple on their way to a party, and end up being invited along.
When the two men get to the mansion where rich people are having a good time, they decide to take matters into their own hands and use the partiers for their own sadistic amusement.…

Halloween Times: Film #27
Poor David Hess, it's not his fault he was born with the face of a rapist.

A brutal and unrelenting trip into violence, power, and revenge.
